Markets
Established with a vision to foster a sustainable future, we have successfully rooted our presence in three countries, harnessing the power of natural resources to generate clean and efficient energy solutions. As we continue to grow and innovate, our ambition now steers us towards expanding further.
Italy
Innovo Renewables S.p.A.
Italy is home to our company’s headquarters, situated in a spacious office in the heart of Milan’s financial district. Our in-house teams oversee every stage of project development, from origination to construction, to ensure the highest standards of excellence and productivity in power plant execution.
In addition to maximising project efficiency, we are dedicated to minimizing the environmental impact
of our activities. Our team continually works to optimise the design of our solar sites for grid compliance, biodiversity enhancement, and minimal land disturbance. This ensures that our projects are in harmony with the surrounding ecosystem.
iCube Renewables
iCube Renewables is a joint venture between Innovo Renewables S.p.A. and Iberdrola Renovables S.p.A., with a 50:50 participation. iCube Renewables is committed to developing a pipeline of renewable energy projects in Italy with the goal of reaching 1.5 GWp of installed capacity over the next five years.
iCube’s pipeline is designed and developed with a focus on delivering innovative and eco-friendly energy solutions, in compliance with Innovo’s guidelines and values. At advanced stages of development, the pipeline currently stands at about 1,3 GWp.
The development phase of iCube’s projects is supervised by Innovo’s Italian team, which is entirely dedicated to the joint venture. On the other hand, the construction phase leverages Iberdrola’s global and consolidated experience.
United Kingdom
IG Renewables Limited
IG Renewables is our UK-dedicated company aimed to develop renewable energy and storage projects across the UK. The team comprises experienced development professionals with expertise in project origination, grid connections, local and national planning priorities, engineering, project management and stakeholder engagement. This collective expertise is utilized to develop projects on greenfield and brownfield sites across the UK.
The team is proficient in managing multiple projects through the project development cycle from the origination phase to ready-to-build status (RTB).
At IG Renewables, we prioritise building lasting relationships with landowners, treating them as valued partners throughout the lifecycle of our projects. As well as maximising project efficiency, we are committed to minimising environmental impact.
As well as being a source of renewable energy, solar farms contribute to the promotion of biodiversity. Studies have shown that solar plants can support diverse bird populations, with an average of 25 species recorded per site and up to 47 species in some cases. Solar farms play an important role in promoting a net biodiversity gain, in line with government policies that require new developments to have a measurable positive impact on biodiversity. By enhancing natural habitats and biodiversity, solar farms contribute to the overall ecological health of the areas they occupy.
Also, contrary to land use concerns, solar farms occupy less than 0.1% of the UK’s land area. This minimal footprint underlines their potential to mitigate climate change without significantly impacting on agricultural or natural areas. In fact, solar farms offer multiple benefits without compromising food security. They provide a reliable source of income for landowners and allow agricultural activities such as grazing to continue on the same land.
